One-Seed Juniper Bonsai

This past week, I had the pleasure of visiting the Denver Bonsai Society and working with a few individuals in the area.  One of the highlights of the trip was working with a relatively untapped native US species known as One-Seed Juniper. Not only are the deadwood characteristics of this species fabulous, but the foliage is much more conducive to bonsai culture than many other US native Juniper species, as it is more turgid, less coarse, and better lends itself to wiring and cultivation. Below is one such One-Seed Juniper, with its collector and owner Richard Le. Come see this tree and many more like it at the Grand Opening of Eisei-en Bonsai Nursery on Sept 1-2, 2018 in Mount Juliet, TN! The post One-Seed Juniper Bonsai appeared first on Bjorn Bjorholm.
