Project Description This Bonus Bonsai-U episode features the repotting of a Chojubai Japanese Flowering Quince (Chaenomeles japonica) from a modern Canton Chinese Container into a Kowatari Antique Chinese pot, circa pre-1800 CE. The tree was originally created in Japan as a root-over-rock planting on an Ibigawa Stone nearly 50 years ago and subsequently imported into the US in the early 2000s. The Kowatari Container is a special Eisei-en private collection pot given to Bjorn as a gift from his Oyakata, Keiichi Fujikawa, just before leaving Japan for the US in 2017.
