Renting Bonsai in GinzaIf you have ever visited the Ginza district of Tokyo, you will know it is perhaps the most posh area in all of Japan – skyscrapers, department stores, cafes and restaurants as far as the eye can see. It is the epitome of modern materialism, with every global brand on the market available for purchase, from Gucci and Chanel to Louis Vuitton and Hermes. But amongst the concrete and glitz, you might be surprised (or maybe not) to find the traditional art of bonsai sprinkled about… On the sixth floor of the Ginza Six department store, in the Tsutaya Book Shop, you will find several quality bonsai tucked in amongst the books. These trees are all on rent from the nearby Uchiku-an Bonsai Shop, owned by Mr. Seiji Morimae of S-Cube Bonsai. Everyday, one of the bonsai shop employees heads over to the department store to water the bonsai, and every few days the trees are switched out to preserve their health. If you ever happen to be in Ginza, be sure to swing by both Ginza Six and the nearby Uchiku-an Bonsai Shop! Uchiku-an Website The post Renting Bonsai appeared first on Eisei-en.
